📜 #TheTalesofYoga 📜 Day 5: Marichyasana // Sage Marichi - Posting a throwback of summer for today’s pose😁🙈😭 Be sure to check in with all of my cohosts for their variations and to learn more about the story behind this deity⚱️ - Sage Marichi was one of Brahma’s seven sons. “Marichi” means a ray of light from either the moon or sun, and he was to be the chief of the Maruts (the shining ones). The story of Marichi is one of selfishness. One day after he grew tired collecting wood and flowers in the forest, he called on his wife Dharmavrata to wash his feet. Just then, he father Brahma arrived and Dharmavrata became conflicted whether she should continue washing her husbands feet or turn her attention to her father in law. She chose to care for Brahma, which made Marichi furious, and he put a curse on his wife turning her to stone. Confused by these actions, Dharmavrata began many years of meditation, when she was noticed by Lord Vishnu who granted her a wish. Her only wish was that the curse be lifted, however because of Marichi’s power it was impossible. Instead, Vishnu transformed her into a holy stone, which was then desired by all the gods. - ⚜️Hosts:⚜️ @ace_yogi @barefootyogi_ @ch3rlieflow @darbvader_ @michiganmadeyogi @molly_pooler_yoga - 🏺Sponsors:🏺 @dalto_fabricart @kundalini_clothing @inspiritcollective @purushapeople - For those who like to plan ahead👇🏼 Pose List: Day 1 - Splits/Story of Hanuman✖️ Day 2 - Dancer Pose/Lord Shiva✖️ Day 3 - Goddess Pose/Durga the Hindu Warrior Goddess✖️ Day 4 - Tree Pose/Sita, The Lord Rama's Wife✖️ Day 5 - Marichyasana/Sage Marichi✖️ Day 6 - Vishnu's Couch/Lord Vishnu Day 7 - Natavarasana/Sri Krishna

📜 #TheTalesofYoga 📜 Day 3 • Goddess pose // Durga Be sure to check in with all of my cohosts for their variations and to learn more about the story behind this deity⚱️ - The goddess Durga, also known as Shakti (divine feminine energy) is the protective mother of the universe- a protector of all that is good and harmonious in the world. Similar to Shiva (her other half), Durga has three eyes. Her left eye represents desire (symbolized by the moon🌚) Her right eye represents action (symbolized by the sun🌞) Her middle eye represents knowledge (symbolized by fire🔥). Goddess Durga represents the power of the Supreme Being, she destroys evil forces such as negative energy, jealousy, anger, greed & selfishness, and preserves moral order and righteousness. - ⚜️Hosts:⚜️ @ace_yogi @barefootyogi_ @ch3rlieflow @darbvader_ @michiganmadeyogi @molly_pooler_yoga - 🏺Sponsors:🏺 @dalto_fabricart @kundalini_clothing @inspiritcollective @purushapeople - For those who like to plan ahead👇🏼 Pose List: Day 1 - Splits/Story of Hanuman✖️ Day 2 - Dancer Pose/Lord Shiva✖️ Day 3 - Goddess Pose/Goddess Durga✖️ Day 4 - Tree Pose/Sita, The Lord Rama's Wife Day 5 - Marichyasana/Sage Marichi Day 6 - Vishnu's Couch/Lord Vishnu Day 7 - Natavarasana/Sri Krishna

📜 #TheTalesofYoga 📜 Day 2 • Dancer Pose // Lord Shiva Be sure to check in with all of my cohosts for their variations and to learn more about the story behind this deity⚱️ - Lord Shiva (“The Destroyer”) was known to be the most important deity of the Holy Trinity, which also consisted of Brahma the (“The Creator”) and Vishnu (“The Protector”). Although he protected his followers from greed, lust and anger, as well as illusion and ignorance that stood in the way of enlightenment- he was also known to be responsible for death and destruction in order to bring forth rebirth and new life. It is said that Lord Shiva not only had meditative powers, but also a cosmic dance that is symbolic of the triumph of Truth over ignorance and impermanence. This eternal dance dispels the clouds of ignorance and instills faith, hope and wisdom. - ⚜️Hosts:⚜️ @ace_yogi @barefootyogi_ @ch3rlieflow @darbvader_ @michiganmadeyogi @molly_pooler_yoga - 🏺Sponsors:🏺 @dalto_fabricart @kundalini_clothing @inspiritcollective @purushapeople - For those who like to plan ahead👇🏼 Pose List: Day 1 - Splits/Story of Hanuman✖️ Day 2 - Dancer Pose/Lord Shiva✖️ Day 3 - Goddess Pose/Durga the Hindu Warrior Goddess Day 4 - Tree Pose/Sita, The Lord Rama's Wife Day 5 - Marichyasana/Sage Marichi Day 6 - Vishnu's Couch/Lord Vishnu Day 7 - Natavarasana/Sri Krishna
