Current teacher trainees at #manasayoga are going through the teachings of pancha kosha and sat chit Ananda. The difference between moving and moving in yoga is, if its in yoga, then we are constantly trying to embody the wisdom teachings of yoga through the movement. So, even as we put efforts on strengthening and refining the muskulo skeletal aspects of the movement, in the context of this video- the handstand, we notice a sense of sticky identification forming around it. That is kosha of annamaya. We also tend to link happiness around success of the attempted movement. That is kosha of anandamaya. The suggested practice of yoga is a simultaneous engagement and disengagement. Engagement with the energy process, but disengaging with the identification process. And then, without the entanglement of identity, we might sense the essence of our self, which is termed as sat (true existence), chit (the base of consciouisness) and Ananda (bliss). The wave of the ocean realizes that its water, and that all other waves, whether bigger or smaller, are that too. Little does he knows is that I have very flexible shoulders and also a more open upper chest.. even though I still feel the lower back pain sometimes (because my thighs are not strong on that particular day), but I have learned to use my shoulders flexibility and also upper back for any backbends.. so here it is kapotasana!
