A week ago I turned 40 and I think it is only just sinking in. I remember a time when I would fear getting older, as if it were a sign of weakness. Nowadays I welcome this new chapter of my life with open arms. I kicked my own ass today and it felt pretty good. Over these past 3-4 weeks I’ve come to realize I, Ashley CAN NOT do one and not the other. Meaning I can’t workout and not eat right. I workout at least 3 times a week & I haven’t seen much or any results. I’ve been slacking in the food department and you know what they say, abs are made in the kitchen. It’s been tough but the first step is realizing the problem, changing the plan but NEVER changing the goal. PS. 🚨Monday🚨 “Everything you want is on the other side of FEAR”- Jack Canfield Boy what a brutal weekend one of the hardest certs I had to take. The second I signed in for the @dragondoorpublications my main concern was my lack of mobility and injury on my shoulders, having a background of imbalance and many things going on this was the ultimate test if I can reach that level of confidence again after being severely injured. With the help of @clutchpt , @the_manual_man they helped me improve those flaws ( mind you I still had to do it myself FYI) and @recovernyc those infrared saunas saves lives @dr.rickrichey 😬. I had to overcome my fear but also be smart about it, Kettlebell training is an amazing tool in fitness if you know the proper training, I became a bigger fan once I was unable to do barbell training after my severe injuries it helped me train safer on my shoulders and back so I decided to go ahead and master the trait. I’m extremely humble but I will say this besides all the challenges I went through this past weekend the biggest take I had on this is “LOVE YOURSELF”- @coachfurypodcast As I was showing struggle and pain it’s ok to stop and I didn’t, ego and adrenaline took over not good which is admirable but at what cost? Train smart! Overall it’s over, I did it, I’m thankful and extremely proud of myself but now it’s time to focus on my next task 4 more weeks! Also want to thank @newlife_at40 & @rachelagranove for the support and they had to deal with me😂. Quick shoutout to @tsfitnessnyc & @noamtamirfit for the support and igniting the idea that I can do this. Always be thankful, NOW YOU CRUSH YOUR WEEK YOU BEAUTIFUL CREATURES! What a whirlwind weekend of HARD work, focus and education. I am officially RKC certified now and my mind is totally blown on how versatile and powerful this type of training is. It really a training system where if you do it properly, it is an elegant expression of the body. One word to describe this type of expression is FINESSE. Thank you @iamcoachfury @vofactor and all of the other instructors for an exceptional weekend of learning. This team made it so amazing. I am so grateful. And thanks again to @bluescitystrength for getting me prepped for this rigorous weekend of testing. In other news, I PR’d at 18kg for my military press. 🧚🏽‍♀️
