binding a book for the first time in some time now, and just realized I never shared this work. This book, Notes on a Permeable Husk was my personal culmination of the projects and collaborations at the exhibition of the same title at the #halesprojectroom , the panels are porcelain and resist the time that abrades it. The interior, a series of notes to a future space meant to be contributed to and ever changing, my handwriting etched on its surface as a personal note to a near and far off reader

Among other things, I’ve been teaching myself basket weaving while a fellow at @oxbowschoolofart to better introduce myself to the tradition’s histories and materials. feeling confident enough to make small vessels now. I’ve been winding and unwinding the reed to understand its behavior and the structure+logic of how the reeds weave into one another to build membranes, letting my hands understand the motions so they are no longer timid about the gestures. Finally feeling confident enough to begin pursuing finished objects. first completed vessel, but rather a token of how little I know and how much more I’ve yet to learn!! i love learning!!!!!!!!
got to see the moon through @sarahandjoseph ‘s telescope. totally surreal experience only captured here in summary. Didn’t get photos of Jupiter or Saturn or a few star clusters we visited before hand unfortunately. time to get my eyes checked for retina burn- the moon is so bright!!!
