Confidence is the ability to feel beautiful without needing someone to tell you. 💛 . I was looking at this picture and the rest I shot this weekend and when my tan fades away, my scars get more visible. You probably don’t even notice it but that sign near my nose is one of the scars the dog bite left me with. Don’t get me wrong, I know that it’s tiny today and I know that compared to 3 years ago, my face is “back to normal”, but there are those days where I look at the scars and don’t actually love them. I mean, I’m human too. But then I’m reminded of how strong I am and of how I overcome that time of my life with power. I had lost confidence for a while, despite everyone saying it was going to get better, and that I still was beautiful. It was only when I saw the beauty within me again, that I really made a step towards my recovery. ♥️ My scars tell my story. And I have come to accept them and smile when I look at them. Be strong. Be-YOU-tiful. 💛 . 🇮🇹 Quando l’abbronzatura va via, le mie cicatrici diventano più evidenti, e quando ho scattato queste foto ho notato subito quel segnetto vicino il naso. Era la cicatrice più brutta che mi avesse lasciato il morso del cane, e il mio medico ha davvero fatto miracoli per metterla apposto, ma mi aveva detto che questa non sarebbe “sparita”...come d’altronde le altre... io le vedo, gli altri le notano appena oggi, ma ci sono giorni che mi sveglio e le guardo con il broncio. Poi mi fermo un attimo, rifletto e ricordo che quelle cicatrici in viso mi rappresentano. Rappresentano la mia forza e quanto io mi voglia davvero bene. Perché ci vuole tanto coraggio ad uscire di casa, andare a lavoro con il viso tumefatto, 50 punti in viso, tamponi nel naso. E io ammiro quella Désirée che è andata avanti, con uno pseudo sorriso in faccia per più di 1 anno. Quella D. che si è sottosposta ad interventi e terapie per rimettere tutto apposto, perché cavolo quanto ho sofferto! I usually split my upper body routine in back & biceps , chest, tricep & shoulders but sometimes I decide to hit the gym an extra day during the week just cause i looove it 😂👍🏻 and add some focus on those muscles I want to strengthen. Now, I ADORE a strong and powerful back and sexy rounded shoulders, so here are 3 exercise I like to add: ▫️underhand bb row: I seriously feel my middle back on fire 🔥 plus you activate the biceps more. ▫️bb shoulder press; ▫️bb shoulder press behind the neck: please make sure to warmup those rotator cuffs properly in order to avoid injuries. Knowing your caloric need is very important if you are aiming at losing weight and there are many factors that come into place: 1️⃣ personal metabolism 2️⃣ body composition, and 3️⃣activity level. . ⚠️ While I suggest to consult a registered dietitian to actually put together a meal plan, I understand that it can be expensive but instead of following fad diets, try to do the math. How? Follow these steps: 1️⃣.Calculate your BMR which you can either get measured at your local gym or you can use the Harris Benedict formula BMR = 655 + (1.8 x height in centimeters) + (9.6 x weight in kilograms) - (4.7 x age in years); 2️⃣.Calculate your TDEE by multiplying your BMR with the activity level quotient: 1.2 for sedentary, 1.3 if you do light exercise 1-3 days a week, 1.5 if you do moderate exercise 6-7 times a week, 1.7-1.9 if you're very active. 3️⃣. To be in a healthy caloric deficit, if someone is looking to lose 1 pound x week, they would need to cut their daily calories down by 500 calories per day, starting from the TDEE. . Basically what you eat < what you burn. 👍🏻 Just be mindful and never forget that: 1️⃣ Food is NOT YOUR ENEMY. 2️⃣ All macronutrients are important! Track calories for a week or so to understand what your portions should look like, so that you don’t have to count macros every.single.day. Remember that if you are trying to lose weight, calories & macros count: even if you're eating healthy foods, you can gain weight! 2️⃣. Include veggies in every meal: they are high in volume but low in calories and they will fill you up also because they are high in fiber. 3️⃣. While there are no good or bad foods, limiting sugar and refined carbs can definitely be both beneficial to your weight loss and to your overall health. Not only do they spike your insulin levels, but they don’t really give any nutrients to your body! 4️⃣. Be active! Focus on increasing your NEAT, basically the calories burned not related to exercise. I challenge you to get 10.000 steps a day for the next 3 months and see how that feels! 5️⃣. Limit alcohol consumption. This is honestly very easy for me because I am no fan, but I do enjoy a glass of rose’ or white wine 🍷 every now and then with some friends. Let’s talk CONSISTENCY 👌🏼. The first week of the year is over and many have probably started their resolution to live a healthier life. You ate healthy this week. You hit the gym. 🙌🏻🔥 You are proud of yourself... and YOU SHOULD BE! But after a bit, if you are not really motivated, the initial hype will fade away and to turn this into a lifestyle, you need discipline. Here are my 5 tips: 1️⃣ Have a workout plan: walk into the gym knowing what you will do, either by taking part of a group class or by knowing your exact routine, don’t wonder around the floor aimlessly. 2️⃣ Find a workout buddy! It can be extremely useful at the beginning of your journey to be accountable to one another. 3️⃣ Set realistic expectations because there will be setbacks, you might fall but what’s important is to always get up stronger! 4️⃣ Find something you enjoy doing! 5️⃣ And don’t forget to track your progress! .
