Follow @india.fit.girls@kritishastry “I was sitting in the corner of my bathroom, crying, screaming because of how unhappy I felt in my own body.” . I never thought I’d share this… but I’m always 100% real with you. . Almost 6 years ago, I felt trapped in my body. I felt very self conscious when I went out, avoided wearing any fitting clothes, avoided mirrors, admired other skinny girls & how “Easy” it was for them. And now that I think about it, majority of the reason I felt this way was because of other people passing comments about my body - mostly in high school (lol I know, high school is the worst!) . I always felt like a victim. Always blamed my body. Felt alone & helpless. . Until one day, I no longer wanted to feel that way. I no longer wanted to play the victim. . Instead of feeling like my body was “ugly”, I wanted to challenge my body & see what it can do. . I went ALL in on working on it. I started exercising, started eating better.. . Ofcourse the right guidance in the beginning would have taken me much much lesser time to get here, but online coaches weren’t that easily available back then.. I didn’t even know there was such a thing. . So, I did it all by myself. Read different articles, watched videos day & night, consumed the hell out of every content that would help me achieve my goal. . And my goal was this : To feel truly HAPPY in my body. To LOVE my body. To appreciate all that it can do. . Weight loss is not always the solution to feeling happy in your body. I did lose a lot of weight in the beginning by just cardio & starving but that didn’t make me feel free. I almost immediately gained all of it back. . Running marathons did make me feel strong & it helped me appreciate what I can do, but I was still very self conscious. . After 3 years of strength training, eating right & learning a ton about my body in the process, I’m now at a place where I know my body so well that I can do anything. I feel more confident than ever. . I know it may seem like a long way, but I can tell you girlfriend, it is SO WORTH IT to work towards it - to one day not feel those feelings ever. Will I lose my muscles if I stop training? . To be honest, the answer to these questions are VERY VERY OBVIOUS. The minute you stop putting in the effort, you stop seeing the result. For example, you are doing your job and getting a monthly salary. Would you ask your boss will you still get your salary once you stop working? NO! Because to sustain that income you need to be putting in an effort on a DAILY BASIS. Same goes for you body, the minute you stop eating right and training there will be consequences. Nothing is permanent. Its due daily. So yes, if you move from a healthy diet to eating junk food mindlessly, you will gain weight. If you stop providing stimulus to your muscles, you will lose muscle. . Follow @india.fit.girls@annabel.fit Operation: GROW some damn hamstrings. As we all know I'm quite quady and I believe my glutes have played catch up... But the hamstrings on the other hand 😅 . . I'm not too sure how many more weeks we have of the current program I'm on... I'll be completing seven weeks on it by the end of this week. But @awesammy and I had a quick discussion that the next training program we will focus lots on my hamstrings- different angles and variations. & how it's very important for me to FEEL them throughout the entire movement not ONLY thinking about beating the log book in terms of weight. Finding that happy medium between strength and maximum muscle connection is the sweet spot 💯 . . Head down, time to work and grow some more before we even think about starting prep for 2020 🌱 . . Follow @india.fit.girls@kritishastry This is an extremely vulnerable post for me, vulnerable because I’ve felt SO insecure about this all my life up until now. . You know that “problem area” you have that you look out for while choosing what to wear.. while posing in pictures.. That which affects your confidence.. That which you’ve received innocent comments from people around you.. nobody would think it’s a big deal but you know it has affected you over the years to the point where you feel insecure about it.. That which hurts you if someone makes a comment online.. (you feel hurt only because you believe it’s true) More so if you’re in the fitness industry & you are always being compared against “perfection” . I’ve felt that & I’ve struggled with this feeling for a long time. Weight training helped me change that over the past few years. . Although it’s a slow process, strength training helped me fall in love with my body - my uniqueness. Starting out, I wanted to be skinny & wanted the “thigh gap” with toned legs. The more I wanted that, the more farther I felt from my goal. The problem was, everyone has a different body type & if your goal is not in sync with that you’ll always feel like you’re not making progress. . Over the years, my goal changed to building muscle & building amazing legs with thick glutes. And that’s exactly what I did. . I can’t tell you how confident I feel in my skin. It’s almost unbelievable to me. I remember feeling so so insecure about even taking pictures like this.. due to which I don’t really have pictures to compare. . But damn! I’ve come so far & I’m so so grateful for the work that I put in. . Everyone wants to know.. “how do I tone up my legs & lose cellulite..” But they aren’t willing to put in the time & effort. They want results in 2-3 months whereas the reality is it’s a long term goal. I’ve been into consistent focused weight training since only 3 years & only now can I say that I see a considerable amount of difference. No matter what anyone tells you, the truth is it takes time, more than you’re willing to put in. . Can you lose fat in 3 months? Yes, ofcourse! . But can you do a body recomposition - build muscle &
