I can be extremely hard on myself at times, always thinking I can do better or be better. Sometimes it takes shifting my perspective to self acceptance, accepting my flaws & weaknesses and the fact that I’m not perfect, to make me love and appreciate being who I am 😊

If anything these horrible tragedies occurring has tought me anything, it’s that we need yoga now more than ever 🙏🏻Yoga has created a community of people who spread love, share support, who come to heal, to grow, where those who lost hope can rediscover hope on their mat. Yoga brings people together no matter what race, gender, age, height, weight, we all have a purpose for our practice. Whether it’s through yoga, donations, speaking up, or volunteering, find ways to support those who are suffering through these horrific events & continue to spread hope & love 💛 My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims of the multiple events that have devastated this country over the past few weeks. My heart is broken but I know as long as we stand together we will get through this👫

With thanksgiving just two weeks away, I can’t help but be so grateful for everything in my life and for everything that has happened throughout this entire year✨ It’s been a year full of highs and lows, but mostly highs & I am so grateful to have such supportive family & friends in my life. This year wasn’t easy but with the help of others & my ability to take control of my life, I am headed in the right direction. Know that in the midst of all the shit your dealing with, there are positive takeaways to every situation. Shifting my focus off of everything that is going wrong in my life, to the things that are going right helped me celebrate the small wins⭐️ Today, I am grateful for my health, my family {+chris} & that I live in California 🌞 . . . What are you grateful for today? COMMENT BELOW⬇️

Dealing with setbacks🙄 Whether your on the road to recovery from an eating disorder, dealing with a traumatic event or working to overcome depression & anxiety, I’m sure you’ve dealt with setbacks. You know the drill, you’ve had the best week, the best month & then out of no where you’re defaulting back to all of your old habits that are associated with your past experiences. I know this happens to me more often than I would like but every time try to take each setback as a learning experience. Rather than beating myself up for crying in bed, eating shitty food, or letting my thoughts go to a dark place, I acknowledge them & do something about it. Whether it’s journaling, meditating or self care, I try to make sure I don’t ignore what’s going on but find ways to deal with them in the comfort of my home. Know the only way you can go is forward so look forward. Think of tomorrow and how you have the ability to make tomorrow a completely different day. Ultimately you are in control & setbacks give you the opportunity to take control of your life & change it for the better 😊 . . . Finding strength within yourself doesn’t come easy.. It comes after you have been put through things that scare you, that bring you pain, that cause sadness, that break you, that tear you down, but from it all, you develop a strength within yourself that you haven’t seen before. And because you suffered, you broke, but were able to rebuild yourself, become a new version of you. One that is strong, fierce, fearless, inspiring, a warrior, reborn as someone who has been through hell and back but has learned from picking up the pieces that she can survive anything👊🏻 #sincerelyC

Can’t believe it’s the first of November🍁🍂 This year has gone by so fast but there are still two months left in the year to set & achieve goals! One of my goals for November is to push myself to get out of my routine more. I tend to get stuck being comfortable doing the same things day after day, but it’s the days where I do something different to change up my routine that end up being the most fulfilling 😊 . . . What are some of your goals before 2018 is up?? Stay focused & finish the year out strong 💪🏻

“Yoga is a dance between control and surrender— between pushing and letting go—and when to push and when to let go becomes apart of the creative process, part of the open-ended exploration of your being” 🙏🏻

I bend so I don’t break 🌟 By bending our minds we are able to mold and change into better versions of ourselves. We prove to ourselves just how much we can handle when we’ve been bent so far & don’t break. We learn after we’ve been bent so far to stand tall and remain strong. Yes, most of us has been bent so far that eventually we break. But we put ourselves back together & continue to bend, to grow, to change, to expand. And when we find ourselves coming close to that breaking point, we dig deep, find inner strength, learn from ourselves & show courage. Be fearless in knowing that when you bend you don’t have to break. The storms of life are not meant to break us. It’s how we weather the storms that reveal who we truly are ⚡️ #sincerelyC

There were times when a darkness surrounded me, I was unable to see the light. It doesn’t mean I am not surrounded by darkness today. I have learned how to find the light in the darkest of times, And I made a choice, a choice to not give up. I continue to fight. There comes a point where it all becomes too much and I can’t say I’ve been strong enough to fight it every time. But I’ve found hope where there seems to be none at all. The simple things in life give me hope. Blue skies, the ocean, the mountains, All make me believe that there is a greater purpose in this life & that something wonderful can happen at any time 💙 #sincerelyC

If you feel pain, If you have suffered, If you feel scared, If you’ve battled with your mind, If you’re falling apart, If you can’t seem to hold it together, If your breaking, Let me tell you it will be okay. Because from all of this, You will become stronger, You will transform, You will be different, You will be in control, You will be courageous, And you will become a fighter. - Let me be the first to tell you that it will not be easy, but you must be patient. Be patient in knowing that you will be in a better place than you once were & on the path to becoming who you truly are. - Today is #worldmentalhealthday and you may be feeling all the highs or all the lows that come with having a mental illness. But know you are not fighting these battles alone. It’s okay to not be okay and with every bad day comes a good one. Keep your head up and keep fighting because you are worth more than your darkness 🌖 #sincerelyC
