Do you weigh yourself every day? STOP IT! ❌ Weighing yourself daily can have a very NEGATIVE IMPACT on you. Your weight varies throughout the day and throughout the week due to body fluid fluctuations, hormone levels and activity levels. The number you see on the scale is also not a true indication of progress. If someone loses a pound of body fat and gains a pound of muscle, that's important! That means body composition is changing 💪 Are your clothes fitting better, do you have more energy, are you sleeping better? All indicators of progress. The scale is just ONE TOOL you should be using to monitor progress towards goals⬇️⬇️ • • You should also be doing body fat measurements and taking progress pictures! It's best to keep your weigh ins to once per week, using the same scale at the same time of day (morning is best) 👍

Having two or more of any kind of artificially sweetened drink per day is linked to to an increased risk of stroke, heart disease, and even early death, according to a new study published in the journal Stroke. • • The American Heart Association (AHA) and American Stroke Association (ASA) teamed up to study data from nearly 82,000 women ages 50 to 79this link opens in a new tab. They found that while only 5.1% of participants actually drank two or more artificially sweetened beverages per day, that group had a 23% higher risk of stroke and a 29% higher risk of heart disease over a nearly 12-year study period compared to women who rarely or never had diet drinks. FOOD ADDICTION ➡️ Yes, it's a REAL THING. Studies have shown that foods high in sodium, sugar or fat are likely to trigger food addiction and over-eating due to the way they act on the brain's reward system. In fact, most scientists have already pinpointed the link between PROCESSED FOODS filled with salt and fat to FOOD ADDICTION. Researchers at the University of Michigan say highly processed foods were more likely to have the same effect on the brain as HARD DRUGS compared to non-processed foods like wheat, fish and other "boring" and "healthy" foods. Do these winter days have you feeling a little bleh? Or let's be honest... A LOT bleh? 😞Trust me, you are NOT alone! Cold weather, bundling up in endless layers and lack of sunshine in the days takes a serious toll on motivation... especially when it comes to exercise motivation. I definitely go through it to this time of year (just ask @theplantbasedbeast 😀) so I feel your pain. Unfortunately, there is no secret sauce, no magic pill that will have you jumping for joy to put on those Nikes every day and get yourself to the gym. It all comes down to a CHANGE IN MINDSET ⬇️ • • Sometimes you just have to put one foot in front of the other and go through the motions. Try to focus on how exercise will make you FEEL instead of solely on how it will make you LOOK. Tell yourself you'll put in just 10 minutes of activity. After 10 minutes you'll get your mojo going and you'll find you can put in longer. Find a group of fitness minded people who share your goals. Play some feel good jams that make you want to get your legs moving (for me that would be anything EDM 😎). Invest in wireless headphones ⬅️ (LIFE CHANGING btw). It's not magic... it's a lifestyle. Brushing your teeth isn't that exciting... but we do it daily because it's part of life #JustDotIt
