Day two of #7daystohandstand were working scissor kick into handstand . I work on kicking up by reminding myself not to arch, think of tower in my hip. But later when I come into transitions, I think I lost that spine straight line ... and started to arch, then I feel myself so heavy and couldn’t lifting back to center. Keep reminding myself not to arching...., still... . The scissor kick has a tendency to promote a banana back especially when kicking up towards a wall. Hold the towel at your hip and it will teach the hips to have the strength and intelligence to negotiate the balance. I added a few variations. Kick to handstand, Straddle, diamond , tuck and then again see how many times you can go through the sequence. learning to keep the shoulders and torso stable while the legs move independent and not contributing to much movement at your base. . As toe tap straight up, I still don’t get it any yet. Even both legs straight up, i still not manage successfully get into. I wonder by next year this time , will I get into this transitions easily? Ps : Inhale = cow pose Exhale everything = cat pose This weeks drill = - X5 cat cow - X5 + weight cat cows - X5 up & high plank - (2 rounds) Emphasize the hollowbody throughout the entire drill 👍. At this time stronger hands and more core understanding and activation is what most of you require. Including myself. Hands tips what works for me : Lolasanas do these and do millions of them. I’d even be in for a full day challenge to see how many we can do in one day. Straight arm drills are a must to be able to push the ground away. Keep shaping = Handstand shape is only lost when out of hollowbody. How do you get better at it? Add hollowbody to everything. Tag / challenge a friend working on inversions to this 😉 Week 4 daily homework = 16 sec handstand daily (if this needs to be broken down in many attempts all good 👍 ) I’ll post a new fun exercise every monday. Beginning in tabletop, engage your core and focus on moving your upper body as little as possible—Keeping your upper body squared off to the mat. Extend your left leg back, bend the knee and pull it forward, in line with your hip. Really focusing on working those abductors. Extend the foot out side ways, hovering it, and make little pulses (5 pulses). Place the foot at the front of the mat and come up into a crescent lunge. 5 reps of static lunges.
