Recently @tombilyeu posted that he wished physical exercise wasn’t so effective because he really dislikes it. And I commented that maybe he doesn’t like exercise because he hasn’t found the RIGHT exercise yet. ⠀ One reason I didn’t workout consistently until 39 was because I thought exercise meant a treadmill and treadmills are boring to me. Or it meant lifting weights and I felt too insecure to be in the weight room. Boot camps zapped all my energy and made me feel sick. I even tried yoga a few times but it was really dull. Maybe it was the teacher maybe it was me. But I took a chance on a 25m strength training video (@21dayfix) and eventually learned to lift weights. I took up yoga but clearly don’t limit myself to down dogs and warrior 1s. I do this kind of weird stuff above. Do they even teach headstand to pincha transitions in yoga classes? I doubt it. But I do it and it’s fun. I MAKE FITNESS FUN BECAUSE LIFE NEEDS TO BE FUN IT IS HARD ENOUGH AS IT IS WITH JOBS AND KIDS AND THE OFFICE BEING PULLED FROM NETFLIX. ⠀ Have you found your perfect program yet? Yesterday I checked an 11th grade metric conversion worksheet with a cherry scented marker leftover from my kindergarten teaching days. A junior girl said, “MRS. TROUT YOU ARE SOOO EXTRA. I’ve been answering a lot of questions in my stories today about why I get up at 3:30 am, what workout program I do, and how I got started with yoga/inversions. GAHHH Y’ALL THAT LIFT IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THING I’VE SEEN!! ⠀ I’m so excited about this breakthrough. I’ve ALWAYS had to do a little hop in order to #straddlepress because my leg muscles weren’t able to lift me from the floor (see second slide, which was filmed 3 months ago) but this week I CAN LIFT! FROM THE FLOOR! OMG IT ONLY TOOK 3.5 YEARS. ⠀ Let me tell you what’s working lately: strength training my stick legs and practicing these presses every day. All of the presses: #splitpress #pikepress #puppypress and #straddlepress. I just don’t see gains unless I practice something every day. But it’s fun. Turns out the racquetball court is also useful for playing racquetball. And according to @korytokar, I don’t run around the court I PRANCE. So I made a video of me PRANCING around the court. And also of him NOT hitting a ball between his legs no matter how many times he tried. But his ball did hit me on the behind so there is that.
A little janky-shoulder transformation and by little I mean it’s totally worth a like and honestly a comment too but time is money I get it. I learned this nifty little trick from @susanbishopyoga and somehow, someway, pushing up against that wall helps open those shoulders. Try it out and report back. I care. ⠀ In other news I was able to complete my workout this morning without having to be someone’s photographer or girlfriend WHAT THE HELL AM I NOT GOOD ENOUGH ANYMORE?
Some guy hit on me at the gym today. Actually “guy” is being generous. He was a kid. Like 20. Jesus I hope he was at least 20. Let’s say he’s 20 but to me he looked 12. ⠀ He interrupted me in the weight room as I was resting between sets and asked IN FRONT OF A BUNCH OF GUYS LIFTING WEIGHTS if I would take pics of him shooting hoops at the indoor court for his girlfriend. ⠀ So he’s shooting hoops and I’m snapping pics and he’s doing layups and I’m snapping pics and he’s shooting 3-pointers and I’m still snapping pics OH HELL now he’s got two basketballs and he’s dribbling them between his legs and spinning around like he’s a damn Globetrotter and then I realize this has gone on entirely too long and I‘m like OK I GOT SOME and he says, now how do I send them to my girlfriend *WINK*. ⠀ Dude I’m just here to do abs okkkkk. ⠀ 📸 : @ojodemostro in playadelcarmen

This is my third time EVER bench pressing. First time I barely got 7 reps but today I did 10. I think it’s because the camera was on and I wanted to show out but whatever 3 more reps is a big deal for these stick arms. I think next week I’ll add some weights on and lower the reps. Make it look like I’m actually doing something and not just lifting one of those large pencils you get at Six Flags. ⠀ Also I’ve been doing the @kelseywells #PWR program and it’s stellar. The app has some weird quirks I wish they would fix but the program itself is 👌. Easy to follow and I’m sore after every workout. Highly recommend and worth the $20/m. We drove to Orlando today so I had just enough time this morning to do a halfass workout and try out the Yogi See Yogi Do pose, picked out by @bethanysmithyoga and inspired by @asanavanessa. This is my best friend @jamiegriffinthompson and in a few days we are meeting at Disney for our annual #TroutDisneyRomp. This is our yearly trip where we try to see all the other stuff Disney has to offer besides the 4 main parks. ⠀ Now this is my 36th trip to Disney and you’d think I had done it all, but I’m always able to try new things. In my stories I’ve been chatting about my inversion progress and how it’s so hard to know how long it will take to get good. But after some fancy calculating this morning, I have finally figured it out and I want to share the equation with you. You need a paper and pencil. Pick a pose and write down how many weeks you think it’ll take to master it. Multiply that number by 5. Subtract 2 for sickness. Add 1 for that week you found a new flavor of Red Bull. Now change the word weeks to years, fold your paper up 8 times, and light it on fire in the sink. Omgggggg I am living my best life right now. Moving to this bigger town has been the best thing to happen to me in years. It’s rejuvenated my spirit and I’m excited for life. I love so many things about it. My new gym. Our new house. That @korytokar can come home for lunch and is home before dinner. That I can order Papa Johns Pizza from my phone and they will deliver it. To my front door. The driver said hey!
